During this session, Larissa Lam will discuss how she has partnered with over 100 community organizations to engage audiences who are unchurched using film and music. She will also share how to identify the needs of a community and create artistic content to address these needs.
Over the past two decades, Larissa Lam has established herself as not only a creative force in music, film and TV but a voice that inspires and empowers others. A dynamic performer, Larissa has captivated audiences across the U.S. at Staples Center, Lincoln Center, The Grammy Museum and more. She has won numerous awards for her music and films and she has been featured on NBC News, NPR, LA Times among other media outlets. A popular keynote speaker, she presented at TEDx, RootsTech and numerous Fortune 500 companies such as Apple, Google and Bank of America. She has been a long time staff member of A.C.T. She is a native of Diamond Bar, California, and a proud UCLA Bruin.
Most recently, Larissa directed the award-winning documentary, Far East Deep South, about Chinese families in Mississippi during segregation. The film made its broadcast debut on PBS World Channel’s “America ReFramed” series. An award-winning solo music artist and former singer with the EDM worship group, Nitro Praise, Lam has toured the U.S. and Asia ministering through music. As a composer, she has written music for film and TV projects such as The Oprah Winfrey Show. For nine years, Lam co-hosted the weekly talk show, “Top 3,” with Rich Wilkerson, Jr. on TBN’s youth network and currently, she hosts the Love, Discovery and Dim Sum podcast with her husband, Only Won aka Baldwin Chiu.
