Ministry Staff Classifications
When you place your ministry under A.C.T. Intl, you become a staff member of A.C.T. Intl given the authority and responsibility to direct your ministry department. So you are still doing the ministry the Lord has placed on your heart; you are simply now doing it as a department of A.C.T. Intl with the 501(c)(3) charitable status, validation, administrative structure and services, ministry training and coaching, and pastoral care that A.C.T. Intl provides.
Provisional Staff Status
Every new staff member starts as Provisional Staff. For up to 12 months, the A.C.T. Intl Staff Development Team will work with you to concentrate on building your ministry financial partnership base, establishing a strong relationship with your Ministry Accountability Team, and fine-tuning your Ministry Mission Statement, Ministry Plan, and Projected Spending Plan. Once these items are in place, your status will be changed to Full Staff status. If after 12 months your status is still not solidified, we will work with you to evaluate your options.
Full Staff Status
Once you’ve met all the requirements of Provisional Status, your ongoing status will be determined based on where you are in your ministry and occupational circumstances. We will help you determine your Staff Status in line with the categories below. Note: your status can change as your ministry develops.
Employee – Full-time or Part-time
If you generate enough department revenue to cover your ministry operational expenses and receive compensation, then you are an employee. Compensation can be paid as salary, housing allowance (if you are ordained or licensed), and/or benefits, such as medical insurance, life insurance, and retirement.
Unpaid staff have the same level of authority and responsibility as paid staff as the director of your department. However, you are not yet generating enough revenue to receive any compensation, or you choose not to receive any compensation for your staff role. Unpaid staff can be classified in any of the following ways.
Full-time or Part-time Unpaid Staff
You are an ongoing department of A.C.T. Intl but depending on how much time you devote to your ministry activities determines whether you’re full-time or part-time.
Short-term Project or Missions Trip Unpaid Staff
You are a staff person for a specific amount of time to direct or be a part of a short-term ministry project, such as a missions trip, outreach/evangelistic event, or an emergency relief project.
Ongoing Project Unpaid Staff
You direct regular short-term projects on an ongoing basis, maybe a couple of missions trips or ministry projects a year.
