giftedness in the arts and a heart for the people of Brazil led Ken and Kris
Fitch to A.C.T. in 2001 resulting in the ministry department
On Staff for HIM.
Ken traveled with several Christian bands for seven years, then the Lord led Ken, his wife, Kris, and their son Joel to serve as full-time missionaries in Brazil for 17 years with OMS International. They returned to the States to launch On Staff for HIM (OSFH) to pursue their two passions: worship evangelism and ministry to the poor and homeless of Brazil.
OSFH ministers to the physical and spiritual needs of the people in Brazil by providing food, shelter, clothing, education (basic reading and writing), job skills, Christian counseling, and an opportunity to hear the hope they can have in Jesus. Brazil's considerable economic and social disparities divide its people. Nearly half their population live on less than $2 a day. OSFH seeks to show these families and children that there are people that are willing to demonstrate God's love in action. James 2:14-19
OSFH
uses the arts as their principle tools for evangelism. Because society in
general has become very visual in its approach to learning, the worship,
creative and performing arts are incredible tools for presenting the truth of
the Gospel. OSFH
use the arts for ministry through worship evangelism festivals, concerts of
praise and worship, concerts of prayer, teaching, preaching, theater, drama,
mime, and the list goes on. They always work through the local church,
believing that the local church is the key to reaching the world with the truth
of the Gospel of Jesus.
Joel
Fitch, Joel and Sharon Davis, and Gildo Machado, a young Brazilian national,
live in Brazil full-time. Ken and Kris are currently residing in the states to
raise financial and prayer support for this ministry and to organize and direct
short-term missions trips with interested church groups several times a year.
